In Maine, ending a month-to-month or at-will tenancy requires landlords to give a 30-day notice to tenants, including weekends and holidays. For non-payment of rent, tenants receive a 7-day notice to pay or vacate, excluding weekends and holidays. Lease violations grant tenants a 7-day or a 30-day notice to vacate, depending on the breach, with the same exclusions for the 7-day notice and inclusion of all days for the 30-day notice.
The Maine Eviction Process details the steps for evicting a tenant.
